ECO-job, an employment agency specialised in the water and environmental sectors, considers Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) [in Dutch MVO] to be a natural part of its corporate processes. In brief, CSR means that an organisation integrates environmental, social and economical considerations into their day-to-day business.
ECO-job approaches CSR by means of the triple Ps: people, planet and profit. The objective of the CSR policy is to find a good balance between these three elements.

People
Within ECO-job we start from the qualities of the individual as well as of the entire team. This policy manifests itself, for instance, in the great amount of freedom that our employees have and the opportunity for their personal development. ECO-job’s employees have the freedom to outline their own direction with respect to study and work.
According to > Irene Edel of ECO-job, a well-functioning team improves the working environment and atmosphere. This is precisely why ECO-job never loses track of its team interest. The company is, therefore, very active with respect to team activities. The entire organisation comes together every three month, for example. Apart from this, there is plenty of room for team consultations and other team initiatives.
Besides its own employees, ECO-job is also responsible for all its employees placed at its clients’ organizations. Open and honest communication is essential and employees can always appeal to the company in case of questions or problems. In addition, ECO-job organises study days, especially for the people who work for our clients. ECO-job also participates in various educational initiatives, such as training/work projects and, moreover, has room for a couple of trainees in its own organisation. By means of these initiatives, ECO-job hopes to make a contribution to the (career)development of young people.
Planet
‘As we operate in the environmental sector, we feel obliged to make a contribution to relieve the burden on the environment’, says Irene. From this, it is clear that the company clearly has the ambition actually to take measures to relieve the burden on the environment.
In this respect, ECO-job has taken measures to reduce the use of paper and they are planning to implement an ‘Adopt-a-Tree programme’ to neutralise the CO2 emission. The company also separates its waste and will switch to ‘green’ power shortly. Being an innovative company, ECO-job is always looking for possibilities to be even more environmentally friendly.
Profit
‘Achieving good financial results is important, of course, but not at all cost. We always try to find the right mix between our staff and the environment’, says Irene From the above explanation it is clear hat ECO-job is willing to invest in measures that will help find a good balance between the three Ps.
CSR plans
In the future ECO-job wants to go more deeply into the possibilities of Corporate Social Responsibility, such as:
• Energy savings;
• Educational projects;
• Sports sponsoring.
